What are the most common pain complaints seen at Clinic 360?
At Clinic 360, the majority of people we see have a mechanical irritation in one or more parts of their body. This further leads to an increased inflammatory response. This principle relates to all anatomical areas. Common problems arising in the spine, shoulders, knees and hips.
Specific problems include shoulder impingement, hip and knee degenerative changes, frozen shoulder, Plantar Fasciitis (heel pain), Achilles tendinopathy, Lower back pain and facet joint irritation with or without pain that radiates down the leg (sciatica).
The ultrasound image on the left shows a tear within the rotator cuff tendon in the shoulder.
We also seen a number of people with trigger finger or osteoarthritis of the thumb or big toe.
Many people also have tissue irritation from movement and postural dysfunction. From a person sat incorrectly at their desk, or someone bending from their spine whilst lifting, to a runner or golfer or swimmer not maintaining alignment and stability during their sporting activity. All these factors contribute to tissue irritation and subsequent pain.
For this reason, Clinic 360 has developed a clinical model of care that identifies the true nature of the problem and then addresses both the inflammatory process with medication and injection therapy (when indicated), but also corrects the persons mechanical function.
Our clients include world class athletes from Kona Ironman, 5km park runners, people post hip and knee joint replacements and individuals who simply aim to regain a more independent lifestyle.
The principle to best health is the same irrespective of what the individuals’ goals are. First make a specific diagnosis, then apply best evidence based practice, minimise inflammation and optimise functional patterns of movement.
When best health is attained, then the whole experience will change; including the unwanted painful one!
